Sagardoetxea: where they pay homage to cider and apples
The Basque Cider Museum is an ideal place to learn about the origin, history and tradition of cider. Located in the neighbouring town of Astigarraga, it is divided into different themed areas:
- The apple orchard: an open-air space where different activities related to cider making and production take place. These activities change depending on the time of year.
- The exhibition: the interpretation centre where you can find out how the world of cider has changed from the 20th century to the modern day.
- Tasting area: where you can not only taste cider and understand what it is made of, but also buy it, as the museum has its own shop.
There are different options for visits, all of which are guided.
