Contemporary art in the streets of Hernani
As well as discovering iconic buildings, you can enjoy the works of different local artists as you walk through the streets of Hernani.
Works such as those by Mikel Eizmendi, author of the mural in the tunnel that joins Gay Mur and Santa Bárbara, or that of illustrator Ainara Azpiazu, ‘Axpi’, on the back of the pelota court in Ezkiaga Pasealekua, as well as the Sculpture by Aitor Ruiz de Egino, in Ave María Park, among others.
Some of these works are part of an initiative by Hernani Town Council that seeks to support local artists in their creative processes, in the fields of the visual arts such as audiovisuals, photography, dance, literature, music and theatre.
In this way, the cultural heritage of the town is enhanced and the work of local artists is promoted, allowing locals, visitors and tourists to enjoy this its streets and other cultural spaces.
